We have done this before with the Blue and Gold but I am trying it with a twist, keeping it live. We will be constantly updating this very article all night long so that you have up to the minute updates so stay tuned.
Back in the arena its about noon. Vibes are high as we are here with Brady of FlicPics and my right hand man Billy Bieber.
First game up in half an hour, Kickapoo vs #4 Wheeler in the 7th place game.
Try our first real time test to see if this is even gonna work.
By Gawd it did now all that's left is for you to tell your friends.
Poo wins the tip and we are off!
Kickapoo's Will Winn has by far the coolest name in the tournament! He may not be a 5 star prospect but he has a 5 star name!
Kickapoo is struggling with the size of Wheeler early on the defensive side. But still a two point game here halfway through the first quarter.
Poo is struggling shooting the ball early. 3-11 from the field and 0-4 from three. Somehow they still have it as a 10-6 game with 1:52 left in the first quarter.
Vincent Mhire heard me type that and promptly hits a three.
One Quarter is done. Wheeler leads 13-9.
UCONN commit Colben Landrew with four points.
I run to the bathroom and Kickapoo is down 6. I come back and Will Winn ties the game up at 18.
Jaron Saulsberry just put down his third canidate for dunk of the tournament.... Alley-oop caught behind his head and thrown down over a Chief....MY GOODNESS!!!!!
Wheeler leads 31-27 at halftime
I got distracted working on another one of my articles here in the third quarter. Colben Landrew is up to 20 points and Kimrey up to 11.
Kickapoo had kept it close but the depth of Wheeler is starting to show. 45-35 here with 3 minutes to play in the third.
As Kickapoo tried to mount a comeback, their turnovers ultimately did them in 54-41 after three quarters.
Poo finishes 8th place 71-55.
UCONN Commit Colben Landrew finally looked really good in the final quarter.
Up next, Rogersville goes for the consolation championship against St. John Bosco.
I really like the kids from Bosco, Matt Dunn, and everyone around the program.....but the fact they don't shake hands with the refs and opposing assistant coaches kind of bugs me more than it should....
I mean Glenn Farello shakes hands himself.
Rog has came out flat early in this one. They currently trail St. John Bosco 11-5.
Bosco holds a 15-5 lead after one quarter. Rog has no answers for 5 Star wing Christian Collins who has 9 points.
Okay. I am back after working on something else. SJB leads 27-18 at halftime.
Rog comes out for the third playing some inspired ball. A couple buckets from Branham cut the deficit to 27-24.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! SUTTON SHOOK IS SO BACK. 27-27
Every time I start to count Rogersville out, they hit a big 3..... this time it was Jack Sutherland.
Christian Collins just seems to respond every time. He is up to 20 points after three quarters.
Bosco leads 43-41 after three quarters....
Rogersville has played three top 40 teams in the country in the tournament and has looked like they belong in all 3.
Jack Sutherland with a steal and score.....We have a ballgame. 44-43 with 5:54 remaining.
By the end of this tournament, Branham may jump into 5 star top 10 player territory.
Titus Moore may be the best sophomore in the state.
Branham picking up his fourth foul is HUGE!!!!!
46-45 SJB with 4:50 left.
As I say that, Christian Collins shows why he's a five star with a monstrous putback jam.
Rogersville had a few chances late but the athleticism of Collins is game changing. 54-49 with 1:09 left.
Bosco dared someone other than Branham to beat them late and just wasn't able to get it done.
the energy in the arena is weird..... It is filling up but it is kind of dead.
Another A+++ effort from Logan-Rogersville but falls just short 58-53.
Branham finishes with 21, Collins with 26.
Now 3-Point and Dunk Contest
Branham wins the 3 point contest
Holy smokes.... a kid from Sheldon in the dunk contest? And Fordland? Small schools stand up!
this kid from Central can freaking hop.
Parkview kid ripping off the jersey for the Superman was super cool
Have to love the prime Dwight reference....... I sure hope he knows it was a Dwight Howard reference.
He then jumps over three kids........
OH MY LORDY! GASSIM TOURE JUST JUMPED OVER THREE GUYS TALLER THAN HIM.......ITS OVER!!!!!!
TOURE IS YOUR CHAMPION!
Now on to the third place game. Bartlett vs Principia!
Dyllan Jones from Bartlett just ended Cisse!!!!
