Before yall get mad. I “got” to go to a gender reveal party this morning and I missed the first four games.
Please issue all complaints to my wife.
Just kidding. Dont do that either.
Sounds like the Ozark-West Plains game was a freaking movie!
Kylan Pickren and Jared Kraft each had 39??????
Speaking of big scorers, congratulations to my boy Jax Baxter!!!!! A Stockton record 42!!!! I just wish I was there for that one.
Lets go! Game one today. Small vs big. Crane vs Logan-Rogersville.
Chase Branham might go for 50.
Crane came to play! 7-7 early.
The Moore brothers are HUGE!
The size advantage for LR is unreal.
Chase Branham is really stinkin good.
Titus Moore ball anticipation is really really good. Borderline elite for a big.
This next part is going to sound nitpicky but its becoming an epidemic
I am all for the youth starting a videography and edits business but they are letting way too many do it.
I count 16 on the baseline…..
I wouldnt be nearly as salty about it but they stole my spot in the media wedge.
I guess it forced me to sit courtside so it all works out.
Anyway, back to the game. Rogersville really took over this one 40-21 late in the opening half.
Crane’s Maddox Vaught is fearless.
Two possessions in a row, he takes Branham off the dribble into the Moore brothers and lies to tell the tale. The sophomore is TOUGH!
Okay but seriously one of these photographers is like 8 years old.
New rule you should have to at least be the same age of the guys your videoing.
Its kind of weird not seeing ole boy Wyatt Wheeler not patrolling the sidelines. I wonder if he is missing the gloriousness of back to back 15 hour days?
These Rogersville jerseys are SICK up close. All black. Checkerboard side. Maroon outline “CATS” on the front. However, if you are more than three rows up, you probably have no clue it is even on there.
The Cats have exploded from beyond the arc in the third quarter.
A 22-6 third quarter for LR pretty much sealed the deal here early.
TURBO CLOCK TIME!
Rogersville may not play a game closer than 20 all tournament long. Very impressive.
68-38 final. Next up, Marshfield and Glendale
I walked over to get the scorebook from the other gym and missed half the first quarter. That was wild.
This Marshfield-Glendale game may be the track meet of the season
Marshfield is absolutely playing their brand of basketball. Supersonic speed.
Thornhill is going to need to hit a few more shots in the second half if the Jays are going to have a shot.
Glendale leads 45-40 after one half.
Joelle Rover about brought the rim down with that dunk
Marshfield is much much improved but the athleticism of Glendale was too much.
The shot clock havent made a huge difference it seems in terms of having shot clock violations, however the scoring has be greatly improved.
Glendale wins big. On to game 3, Clever vs Willard
Willard has a significant size advantage. I mean very significant.
Today marks four years since a few comments I had made me the most hated man in Clever.
Willard just tried an oop off the tip. Then the Willard player proceeded to trip over four of the ridiculous number of photographers…..
Yes I am back to that.
Clever has looked out matched physically early but Lucas Peebles is putting the Jays on his back. 7-1 Jays. All 7 been by Lucas.
Willard has had the best student section of the tournament by far.
The whistle is seemingly only working on the Tigers end of the court. It has been noticed
I drink an ungodly amount of chocolate milk at this tournament.
Lucas Peebles may be the greatest basketball player of all time.
Dont look now but Clever leads 19-13 after one quarter.
HALFWAY THERE!!!!
5-0 run by willard cut the lead down to just one 19-18.
PEEBLES WITH ANOTHER 3!
Clever having some issues with the shot clock. They hav had to force a couple threes at the buzzer.
Uziah Huskisson is going to be a major problem for the next two and a half years. He is a dude!
Peebles may have the number on his jersey (33) in the first half. Very impressive showing early.
Okay he ended with 20 in the first half….
Willard has taken over the boards. That has translated on the scoreboard.
Willard found out the best way to stop Peebles, a hard foul that bust open his eyebrow. He is out of the game.
Never fear. He came back after about four minutes.
Okay Clever fans can fear now. Willard lead up 9.
Willard continues to let Clever stay within striking distance. Lead back down to two.
Nevermind lead back to nine after three quarters.
Clever will not die. 5 minutes left and the lead is down to 5.
It was a fun ride but the size and athleticism of Willard ended up being too much for the Jays. However, as a Clever basketball alumni, best showing in the tournament in a long time.
57-50 Final score.
I have had too much fun at the winners bracket. Lets check on Miller and Catholic
AYYYYYYYY SIX-SEVEN
As a teacher, I hear that in my sleep and I hate every second of it.
Catholic is on fire
I am 100% not making it to 100 thoughts
In my defense, I was only here for half the games today.
I have a hot take.
Winner bracket games should be played in Hammons. It is perhaps the coolest venue I have watched a game in.
The Pit at Central is absolutely up there too.
We are going to end 25 thoughts short… We will try again Monday!
